How to register for the SAT examination? Stay assured that the procedure is not at all complex. Students desirous of obtaining admission into bachelor’s or undergraduate courses in the US or Canada will find this to be an important examination. SAT scores are needed by most universities for assessing the profiles of applicants for admission. The examination helps in evaluation of mathematical, written, and verbal capabilities. How to Register for SAT Exam - Simple Steps

Thinking about how to book an SAT exam? You should know how to register for the SAT exam in India online. Go through the following steps to register for the test:

  • Go to the conducting body, College Board’s official website, http://www.collegeboard.org, and then create your own account.
  • After creating this account successfully, provide all your personal information likewise.
  • Create your student profile thereafter. Provide details of your high school, academic information and information pertaining to extracurricular activities.
  • Give college-level information including the type of college, majors, size of college and so on.
  • Choose your test date and the center for the test.
  • Upload a picture thereafter.
  • Pay the test fee with PayPal or a credit card.

Register by Mail

You can also register via mail although you will require The Student Registration Guide for the SAT exam, and this is readily available at several institutions. The guide includes a return envelope and form for registration. The form should be sent along with a demand draft. USIEF (United States-India Educational Foundation) is the local SAT representative in India and the mailed forms will be dispatched to their regional office.

SAT Registration Deadlines

The SAT exam dates fall on Saturdays and the test is generally conducted on 7 Saturdays every year; the deadline for registration is four weeks prior to the date of the test.  The College Board has also released anticipated SAT examination dates for 2022-23. They are as follows:

  • August 27, 2022 (paper/pencil)
  • October 1, 2022 (paper/pencil)
  • December 3, 2022 (paper/pencil)
  • March 11, 2023 (digital)
  • May 6, 2023 (digital)
  • June 3, 2023 (digital)

Additional SAT Registration Options

Registering with Accommodations - Differently-abled students can register for SAT through this option if they have a documented disability or condition that impairs SAT taking ability. If you need testing accommodations for the SAT exam, you must get College Board approval before you register.

Sunday Testing - Sunday testing is not available in India or Pakistan.

Registration of students under 13- A parent or guardian will need to complete and submit the Account Creation Consent form for candidates under 13 year of age.

SAT Fee and Fee Waivers

The SAT registration fee is $55, plus the regional fee which is $49 for India. For SAT fee registration waivers, income-eligible students who live in India and are in Class XI or XII can apply for discount vouchers that will save them up to 90% on SAT registration fees. Those with annual family income less than ₹8 lakh are eligible for 90% registration fee waiver while those with annual family income between ₹8 lakh and ₹15 lakh are eligible for 50% discount.

What are the important documents required for the SAT exam?

The two compulsory documents for identity proof are Aadhaar Card and Passport whenever SAT registration is undertaken. Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, several testing centers for SAT are now closed. Aspirants should carefully check which ones are open before choosing a center of their choice.

What is SAT registration number?

SAT registration number is provided once you have successfully completed the application. Just like your board roll number, SAT registration number for every candidate is a unique identifier.

How to get sat registration number?

You will receive a mail confirming your registration and exam date. In the details, you will find your SAT registration too. You will also be provided with a downloadable SAT ticket that will contain your registration number and other details.

What does late registration mean for SAT?

Late registration means that students can still apply after the registration window closes but late registration charges will be levied on them. The late registration period typically extends for about two weeks following the regular registration deadline.

How can you get a refund for SAT registration fee?

If you cancel your SAT registration before or on test day, you'll receive refund of your registration fee after deduction of the cancellation fee. Refunds are processed beginning six weeks after the test date.

How much is SAT registration?

The SAT registration fee is $55, plus the regional fee which is $49 for India.

How much is the late registration fee for SAT?

If you cancel before the regular cancellation deadline, the fee is $25.

If you cancel after the regular cancellation deadline up to the test day, the fee is $35.

How to cancel SAT registration?

The registration can be cancelled via My SAT account. Sign in to your My SAT account and go to the registration you want to cancel. From the I would like to menu, select Cancel Registration.

Is a passport required for SAT registration?

While passport is not required for SAT registration, it needs to be mandatorily produced at the test center to establish your identity.
