​​The Footwear Design and Development Institute All India Selection Test (FDDI AIST) is an entrance examination conducted by FDDI. By clearing the FDDI AIST exam, aspirants can enroll in undergraduate and postgraduate programs related to the field of footwear design and technology (recognized in India). The exam will be conducted in a pen-paper-based mode. With 200 objective-type questions in the exam, the exam pattern for a bachelor's and master's program would vary. 

To complete the FDDI AIST registration 2024, aspirants must pay an application fee of ₹600 (SC/ ST: ₹300) online.

FDDI AIST Exam 2024 Application Process 

STEP 1: Create login 

  • Visit the official website and click on "Registration."
  • New candidates must create a login by filling in the required details to register for any program. A valid email ID is necessary for the online FDDI application form.
  • Press the "Submit" button. The information filled in here cannot be changed.
  • Confirmation and login credentials will be sent to the entered email.

STEP 2: Complete the process of filling out the online FDDI application form

  • Already logged-in candidates should visit the official website and log in using the credentials sent to the registered email to complete the process.
  • On the "Login to Complete Process" page, complete the following actions for submitting the online FDDI application form:

Action 1: Fill out the FDDI application form

  • Fill in the details on the online FDDI application form. 
  • Save the information by clicking the "Save" and "Proceed" buttons while filling out the form.
  • To edit any information, log in again using the username and password, and save the changes by clicking "Save" and "Proceed."

Action 2: Uploading images

  • Upload a recent passport-size color picture against a light-colored background in .jpg or .jpeg format, not exceeding 50 kb.
  • Upload Signature. Sign on white paper with a black ink pen and scan it in .jpg or .jpeg format, not exceeding 50 kb.

Action 3: Make payment

  • Make payment through a debit card/credit card. Keep the details handy. After payment, no further changes can be made.

FDDI AIST Exam 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s Degrees (BDes / BBA)

A candidate is eligible for FDDI admission to a bachelor’s program if they have passed:

  • 10+2, in any stream, from any recognized Board.
  • Any School, Board, or University examination in India or a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
  • School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
  • All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved a three-year full-time Diploma after Class X, which the Board of Technical Education offered.

A candidate who has appeared for any examination under clause (A) and whose result has not been declared at the time of admission is eligible to apply to the bachelor's programs. Such candidates, if selected, will be granted provisional FDDI admission and must submit the result of the requisite examination on or before September 30, 2024. 

Aspirants should not be beyond 25 years as on 1st of July 2024.

Master's Degrees 

To be eligible for a Master of Design (MDes) in Footwear Design & Production,  Fashion Design or Business Administration (MBA) in Retail & Fashion Merchandise, a bachelor's degree in any discipline is required.

Eligibility of Candidates with Any National Level Entrance Examination for Admission in UG & PG Programs

Students with valid scores are required to apply online for FDDI admission in 2024. However, they may be exempted from appearing in AIST 2024. If they choose to participate in the AIST examination in 2024, the rank of such candidates shall be determined based on their performance in AIST 2024.

FDDI AIST Admission Process 

Program admissions will be conducted via counseling on a merit basis. The allocation of the program and campus will be determined by the candidates' rank and their stated preferences.

Successful candidates will be summoned for counseling based on their rank derived from the AIST 2024 aggregate score. Upon being allocated a seat, candidates must pay ₹25,000 at the time of counseling/admission to reserve the seat. This amount comprises ₹10,000 (Non-Refundable) as a Registration Fee and ₹15,000 as an Advance Fee, which will be adjusted against the balance fee.

There is no age limit for a Master's in MDes or MBA at FDDI. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from an institute or university recognized by Indian authorities are eligible to apply.

What is the deadline for the FDDI AIST exam online form submission?

The deadline for online form submission is 20 April 2024.

What happens if I cannot deposit the balance fee within the specified time after reserving my seat?

Candidates are given a grace period of 10 working days to reserve their seats to deposit the balance fee. Failure to do so within the stipulated time may result in the forfeiture of the seat. It's crucial to adhere to the given timeline to secure admission.
