A public research university in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is called the University of Alberta (often referred to as U of A or UAlberta). The institution was established in 1908 by Henry Marshall Tory, the first president, and Alexander Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta. The Post-secondary Learning Act gave it legal standing. Since the institution is a "comprehensive academic and research university" (CARU), it provides a variety of academic and professional programmes that often result in undergraduate and graduate-level certificates. Admission eligibility criteria  
Required Coursework
English 30-1 (or its equivalent in your region) is a prerequisite for all undergraduate programmes that provide direct entry from high school. The other four subjects vary by programme.

Test Requirements  
The University of Alberta has specific requirements for admission, including language proficiency and, in some cases, standardized test scores. Here are the details:

English Language Proficiency (ELP): All undergraduate applicants must have a sufficient level of ELP in order to be considered for admission. The Alberta School of Business requires a TOEFL (iBT) score of 100 for MBA applicants, with Spoken English Proficiency (SEP) requirements in select cases2.3. University of Alberta requires a minimum of 120 on the Duolingo English Test for English Language Proficiency, with no subscore lower than 1004. 
Standardised Test Scores: Students who attended unaccredited schools must still present standardised test scores (such as AP exam scores) in order to be evaluated for admissions consideration. Undergraduate applicants applying for Fall 2023 who are enrolled in an accredited institution with a US-patterned curriculum do not need to submit their SAT or ACT scores.

Application Deadline  
The University of Alberta has a number of important application dates. On October 1, 2023, applications will be accepted. International students must apply by different dates: July 1 for September admission, November 1 for January admission, March 1 for May admission, and May 1 for July admission.
