The University of Alberta is a public research institution in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In 1908, Alexander Cameron Rutherford established it. As a "comprehensive academic and research university" (CARU), the university provides a variety of academic and professional programs that often result in undergraduate and graduate-level credentials. According to top public university rankings, it is one among Canada's best public universities. 

Four campuses in Edmonton, an Augustana Campus in Camrose, and a staff center in the heart of Calgary make up the institution. On the south rim of the North Saskatchewan River valley, across and to the west of downtown Edmonton, the original north campus, which spans 50 city blocks and includes 150 buildings, was established. The 400 programs offered by the 18 faculties are attended by 39,000 students from Canada and 150 other nations.

Subject-Wise Ranking

As per US News Subject Rankings, University of Alberta is ranked #38 in Agricultural Science, and #167 in Immunology. In Artificial Intelligence, the University is ranked 52, and in Biology and Biochemistry, it is ranked #75. The University is ranked #63 in Microbiology, and #216 in Physical Chemistry. In Economics and Business, University of Alberta holds the #102nd position. 

Employability Ranking

According to Times Higher Education (THE), the Employability Rank 2022 of the University of Alberta is #172.
