Foreign Medical Graduate Examination or FMGE becomes mandatory when you want to know the alignment of your foreign-medical training with the Indian healthcare standards. FMGE Registration Dates 

Introduced through the Screening Test Regulations, 2002, FMGE makes you eligible for a license from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or any state medical council. It is important to note that this is not an entrance exam (like NEET) to enroll in medical universities. Instead, the exam aims to validate your medical education obtained abroad and certify your ability to practice medicine in India.

This exam is conducted twice a year, June and December. Let’s check out the FMGE registration dates for both sessions based on 2023 data. For 2024, the tentative dates are expected to be around the same dates as the previous year.

The final rectification opportunity is made available for selected candidates, and the list is published in the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) portal that conducts the FMGE test.

For better preparation for the FMGE exam, you can use the NBEMS demo test, available 10-15 days before the exam. It will help you familiarize yourself with the computer-based test format. It is to be noted that the admit cards for the FMGE exams are released 10-15 days before the exam date.

FMGE Result Dates 

The FMGE result usually gets published within a month of the examination. The results for the June 2023 exam were published on 31st August, 2023, and those of the December 2023 session will be published on 20th February, 2024.

Candidates who have cleared the FMGE exam must attend an in-person verification, where their credentials, such as Face ID and biometric information, will be verified. After the verification process, qualifying candidates will receive their certificates. This certificate is mandatory for registering with the National Medical Commission or State Medical Council, which is a crucial requirement to practice medicine in India.

Can I use electronic devices at the FMGE exam hall?

The possession or use of mobile devices or any electronic devices is strictly prohibited. You will be penalized if you bring electronic devices to the examination hall. Please check the exam guidelines thoroughly to ensure you do not face any penal action.

Is there any identification requirement in the exam hall?

Yes, the on-duty staff are authorized to verify and record your identity. You must carry your original ID cards such as valid passport, adhaar card, driving license, PAN card, or voter ID. cooperate with them at all times.

Where can I check my FMGE result?

The FMGE result is displayed on the official website of the NBEMS (National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences) that conducts this screening test. The result is usually made available within a month after the exam date.
