This combined program is aligned to assist candidates to obtain credentials required to be considered eligible by Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVSc) to sit Fellowship examinations. Many of these credentials are also required to fulfill the requirements of the equivalent European or American Diplomat/Specialist bodies.

On successful completion the candidate will graduate with two degrees: a Master of Veterinary Studies (Clinical Residency Program) (a coursework degree) and a Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies (a research degree).

This fully online multidisciplinary course will enhance your understanding of the scientific and evidence base of paediatrics, research methodologies and advances, the health trajectories of children, population-based child health and ethics.

The programme is ideal for all those working with children and young people in a professional capacity, and we welcome allied health care professionals in paediatrics as well as nurses and doctors to apply.

After successfully completing your first year (PG Cert), you will be given the option to focus your studies on:

• Neonatal medicine;
• Acute (critical care and emergency) paediatrics; or
• Specialist paediatrics

Specialist paediatrics will focus on current high impact paediatric conditions and the importance of optimising child health trajectories.

You can also choose not to specialise for more of a general overview in your studies

The MSc in Clinical Trials is a two-year, part-time distance learning course that provides a thorough training in both the theoretical and practical aspects of conducting randomised clinical trials.

Our Palliative Care programme will give you the skills to critically appraise research and evidence on palliative care, conduct high quality research, improve clinical practice and develop services across the world. You will have world-class teaching at one of the strongest centres of palliative care research in the world and the only purpose-built institute for palliative care. This course incorporates leading research and innovative and evidence-based practice. It is delivered by the Cicely Saunders Institute in partnership with St Christopher’s Hospice. Our programme is open to any professional working in palliative care or with people facing advanced illness. Palliative care is a multidisciplinary speciality involving doctors, nurses, and allied health and social care professionals. We believe our students learn best in a classroom reflecting that range of professions.

The 60-credit Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling serves both students looking to become licensed as mental health counselors and those seeking to eventually proceed into doctoral programs. The curriculum covers mental health counseling practice and research, in addition to necessary coursework in human growth and development, social and cultural foundations, helping relationships, group work, career and lifestyle development, appraisal, research and program development, and professional orientation. Practicum and internship experiences provide unique, varied, and intense hands-on mental health counseling training experiences under the supervision of licensed professionals.

The Department of Counseling and Student Development offers the Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This program meets the requirements for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and leads to licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois.

The Strength and Conditioning (S&C) track is ideal for those that are planning on pursuing careers in sport performance or personal training. By learning how to apply the concepts of exercise physiology to exercise selection and program design, you will become proficient at designing training for individuals from a broad range of sports and physical activities. Individuals who may find the S&C track most beneficial include those who aspire to become: college or professional S&C coaches, sport performance specialists, occupational and physical therapists, athletic trainers, personal trainers, and wellness coaches.

The Master of Science (ScM) degree program begins in late August/early September, with the first year devoted to coursework followed by research and thesis, usually requiring an additional year in residence. The  ScM degree is similar to the MHS with regard to the required coursework, but they differ in the entrance requirements and in the thesis requirement.

The ScM is designed for students who have completed the prerequisite courses and have had at least one year of work experience in epidemiology or another scientific field.  Successful applicants may have published manuscripts and have conducted lab or field research. The ScM requires degree candidates to complete an original research project with depth and understanding of epidemiology in their topic area. ScM students submit their publishable quality thesis for approval to the University Graduate Board.

Clinical mental health counselors provide services to clients who seek help with everyday life concerns as well as those who struggle with significant emotional, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. To help these clients achieve optimal well-being, clinical mental health counselors utilize individual, couple, family, and group counseling.

These services are provided across many settings, including private practice, mental health agencies, college counseling centers, churches, hospitals, cancer treatment centers, and substance abuse and eating disorder treatment centers

The Master of Science in Kinesiology (MSc) is a thesis-based degree. Areas of study can include topics broadly related to the natural, health and physical sciences.

The Marriage and Family Therapy Master's Program is to prepare competent and ethical mental health professionals dedicated to improving the human condition through both prevention and intervention. As such, this degree will provide necessary experience to prepare students for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists, with the curriculum providing extensive opportunities through clinical practicum courses to develop their skills in practical environments. Program faculty emphasize a multilevel, systemic perspective that includes individual internal relationship processes and reflects cultural meanings, constraints, and global complexity, with a particular focus on working with children.

The MSCVP program learning outcomes are:

• Develop cardiovascular perfusion competence (skills, knowledge, behaviors) that are portable across national and international healthcare and professional and professional environments.
• Facilitate a positive outcome for patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass.
• Gain expertise in medical, biological, and physical sciences in relation to cardiovascular perfusion.
• Facilitate adequate circulatory support with the use of ancillary devices.
• Develop circuit designs and adaptations.
• Cultivate a commitment to the enhancement of the cardiovascular perfusion profession.

The MSCVP program has a total of 88 credits over five consecutive semesters. The curriculum aligns with the Master's degree level standard of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the ABCP Qualifications   Framework. It also provides the appropriate depth and breadth of knowledge, applied, specialized preparation in critical thinking and scholarly research, problem-solving and analysis, communications, leadership, professional capacity, and autonomy in the field of cardiovascular perfusion.

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education provides initial teacher preparation at the master's degree level for qualified candidates who hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related discipline such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Outdoor Education, Human Performance, etc. The degree program is designed for college graduates whose undergraduate degrees did not include coursework or learning experiences necessary to meet CAEP/NASPE national accreditation standards and the Georgia Performance Standards in health and physical education necessary for Health and Physical Education P-12 teacher certification. Successful completion of the M.A.T. program leads to a T-5 Georgia Teacher Certification.
