The Master of Optometry is a postgraduate degree designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and clinical skills in evidence-based optometry and vision science. Students will be able to develop their expertise in multiple areas, including contact lenses, sensory neuroscience, myopia control and community eye health, business and public health. Courses in this degree use a variet of teaching methods that are intended to appeal to new and established practitioners who hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent in optometry. Students will have the option to enrol in up to 18UoC in selected electives from UNSW Business School (Management/Marketing) and School of Population Health (Public Health). Business electives will provide the diversity in training required for students to develop their management skills and marketing capability within the changing economic climate.
