As part of your degree, you will complete over 800 clinical placement hours in varied settings including emergency departments, intensive care units, paediatric units, oncology units, mental health facilities and community health centres.

Beyond clinical care, you will also study human biology, pharmacology, research and evidence-based practice, social contexts of health and illness, illness experiences, healthcare systems, leadership in healthcare and other professional topics, including legal and ethical issues in healthcare.

This course, offered by Nursing and Midwifery, prepares nurses and midwives for leadership roles in specialist practice, management, education, disaster management and leadership, trauma nursing and advanced midwifery. You will develop advanced practice knowledge and leadership in specialist practice including skills to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate health care, as well as the ability to formulate policy for a diverse and multicultural society. Graduates are employed in a wide range of general and specialist clinical, educational and healthcare environments in senior positions and contribute to the health of individuals, families and communities, in addition to the development of the profession.

This MSc is a newly-launched online course, aligned with the updated World Health Organisation Patient Safety Curriculum. The course employs engaging online learning, comprising innovative group-working exercises combined with live teaching sessions with world-leading academics. 

This course is well suited for healthcare professionals, managers, policymakers and industry representatives. Our aim is to equip you with the skills to improve patient safety, considering the implications of interdisciplinary working in low-resource settings, responding to global crises and delivering innovation in challenging circumstances, such as international pandemics.

During this course, you will gain insights into the global context of healthcare, drawing upon a broad range of expert perspectives from academia, healthcare and industry. HetSys is an EPSRC-supported Centre for Doctoral Training. It recruits enthusiastic students from across the physical sciences who enjoy using their mathematical skills and thinking flexibly to solve complex problems.

By developing these skills, HetSys will train you to challenge current state-of-the-art in computational modelling of heterogeneous, ‘real world’ systems across a range of research themes such as nanoscale devices, new catalysts, superalloys, smart fluids, laser-plasma interactions etc.

The Mental Health Counseling program prepares individuals through coursework and supervised experience to become eligible for licensure. Graduates are prepared to serve in a variety of clinical settings such as mental health centers, family counseling and community agencies, hospitals, correctional facilities, treatment centers, college counseling centers, career counseling settings, and private practice.

The graduate program in Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS) culminates in a masters of science degree and prepares recipients to assume entry-level positions as speech-language pathologists. To be considered for admission to the CDS graduate program in speech-language pathology, applicants must have either a bachelor's degree in communication disorders and sciences, or a bachelor's degree in another discipline and all prerequisite undergraduate coursework.

The MSN (Entry into Nursing) Program prepares students to become Master’s level nurse generalists with advanced knowledge and skills to deliver and direct care to patients with complex conditions on interprofessional teams in a hospital, primary care, or community health setting.

This full-time, five-term program is delivered on-site and prepares students to take the nursing licensure exam (NCLEX) and be licensed as an RN upon graduation. The program emphasizes leadership, global impact, quality and safety, and evidence-based interprofessional education. Students learn from a framework that integrates knowledge from the physical sciences, the humanities, public health, genetics, and organizational sciences into nursing practice. For the MSN (Entry into Nursing) Program, the coursework in each semester builds on the knowledge acquired during the prior semester. MSN (Entry into Nursing) students may not progress to new semester coursework if all previous semester coursework is not successfully completed.

Professional school counselors assist all students with academic success and applying achievement strategies; facilitating students' social/emotional development and applying interpersonal skills; and increasing students' awareness, exploration and planning for postsecondary options. 

As certified educators and vital members of the school leadership team, school counselors' roles and responsibilities are integral to the fulfillment of schools' educational mission creating a culture of success for all students. 

The M.S.N. program prepares graduates to be leaders. Program completion opens new horizons for nurses in education, advanced practice, policy implementation, health care management, and nursing knowledge development. Applicants must be registered nurses with a bachelor's degree, normally in nursing, who meet the admission requirements of the UBC Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Program graduates develop skills in leadership in professional nursing practice. The program offers opportunities to move directly into doctoral studies.

Working as part of a small cohort, you’ll benefit from one-on-one mentoring by faculty, while building close connections with peers. You’ll also engage in a 100-hour practicum and a 600-hour internship that give you opportunities to apply your knowledge in the field. When you graduate (and complete the post-master’s supervised hours), you’ll be prepared to obtain licensure as a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

The Graduate Program in Counseling (GPC) offers a Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) for 48 or 60 credits. The 48-credit MAC satisfies the current Pennsylvania course and credit requirement to sit for the National Counselor’s Examination. The 60-credit MAC satisfies the current Pennsylvania course and credit requirement to sit for the National Counselor’s Examination and to apply for licensure in Pennsylvania (and other states with equivalent requirements) after passing the NCE and accumulating 3,000 hours of supervised work experience.

The Professional Masters of Athletic Training degree (MAT) at Dixie State University is designed to prepare students to become athletic training professionals. Professional athletic training education uses a skills-based approach in both the classroom and clinical settings. Using a medical-based education model, athletic training students are educated to provide comprehensive patient care in five domains of clinical practice: prevention; clinical evaluation and diagnosis; immediate and emergency care; treatment and rehabilitation; and organization and professional health and well-being. The educational requirements for CAATE include acquisition of knowledge, skills and clinical abilities along with a broad scope of foundational behaviors of professional practice. Students complete an extensive clinical learning requirement that is embodied in the clinical integration proficiencies (professional, practice-oriented outcomes) as identified in the Athletic Training Education Competencies. The primary focus for the MAT program is to prepare students to sit for the Board of Certification Examination (BOC). Passage of the BOC examination is a requirement for licensure in most states. Eligibility for the BOC exam is contingent upon completion of a program accredited by CAATE that must instruct the Competencies within the curriculum.

Endicott College's Master of Science in Nursing Education program allows students to prepare for the advanced role of nurse educator in either an academic or health care organizations. Nurse educators are responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating, and revising academic and continuing education programs for nurses.

Nurse educators are a critical component in exploring new trends and innovative instructional technology strategies. They also aid in preparing the nursing workforce for the diverse, ever-changing health care environment.

An internship provides the opportunity to integrate knowledge and experience within an administrative environment with a nursing educator. Our fully online 60-credit M.S. in Mental Health Counseling provides high-quality training utilizing the most recent standards of best practice that will prepare you to successfully meet the challenges, priorities, and needs of a 21st-century mental health population.
