It emphasises the strong scientific foundations of engineering and will expand your career options by giving you two qualifications with just one extra year of study.

In this program you can combine any of the engineering streams (Aeronautical, Biomedical, Chemical and Biomolecular, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Software and Space) with a Bachelor of Science (Health). You will develop an extensive knowledge of your chosen stream along with technical, analytical and research skills to lead innovation across continually evolving industries.

As part of your engineering degree you will undertake the award-winning Professional Engagement Program enabling you to change your approach to learning through self-reflection and extra-curricular activities throughout your degree.

The Bachelor of Science (Health) provides a thorough grounding in health and health systems at the local, national and global levels. You will graduate with the ability to navigate the complexity of health in different sociocultural, political and economic contexts, and develop core skills in critical thinking, complex problem-solving, communication and empathy.

You will complete a major in health with core units in areas such as human biology, psychology and eHealth, and gain broad knowledge of healthcare and its latest developments before specialising in your area of interest.

Bachelor of Engineering and Arts is a double degree focusing on real world problems to illustrate the interaction between engineering and society, and introduces the range of engineering disciplines available. The engineering/arts double degree offers diversity, flexibility and more career choices.

Our General Engineering course will give you a strong foundation in the fundamentals of engineering, with a focus on areas key for the addressing the challenges of 21st century. You'll develop your experimental and practical skills in tandem with mathematical and analytical approaches with a strong emphasis on project-based design work from the start. Systems thinking, sustainability, modelling and simulation, software and programming, and engineering design, management and entrepreneurship are strong themes that cross through technical modules establishing core scientific and engineering principles in electrical, mechanical, thermal and fluidic domains. In the later years of the degree, you''' undertake a substantial individual project.

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology degree emphasizes the study of industrial, production, and mechanical engineering technology principles to prepare graduates for engineering technology positions in industrial and laboratory settings.

The Engineering Technology program at EIU provides students with opportunities to apply engineering and effective technologies to make working designs, create solutions to complex problems, and be the technical communicator that workers, customers, and vendors demand. Engineering Technology students will design, develop, and create solutions through hands-on courses in automation, robotics, rapid prototyping, quality, safety engineering, machining, and production management.

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering is an ABET-accredited multidisciplinary engineering degree designed to prepare graduates for professional practice and leadership in the 21st century. Students take classes in mechanics, materials, electronics, and quality, depending on their emphasis field. The two areas of emphasis offered are General Engineering and Industrial Engineering. All Engineering programs emphasize innovation, hands-on laboratories, small, intimate classroom settings, mentoring by faculty, and thinking-outside-the-box solutions. 

The mission of the B.S. in engineering mechanics degree program is to provide a rigorous educational experience that prepares a select group of students for leadership positions in the profession and a lifetime of learning. The faculty is committed to maintaining a modern and flexible curriculum which, building on a foundation of basic sciences and mathematics, develops a solid education in the mechanical engineering sciences. The aim of the Engineering Mechanics program is to build competence in the analysis, design, and modeling of fluid and solid systems, to promote a broad knowledge of the contemporary social and economic context, and to develop the communication skills necessary to excel.

The state of the business world today is such that a major portion of its administrative effort must be geared to the supervision of persons engaged in complex technological processes often involving applications of electronics. As a consequence, the ideal administrator is now one who is conversant with both good business practice and technological know-how. The Engineering Management major provides a student with a program of carefully selected business and economics courses coupled with a series of coordinated physics and electrical engineering courses so as to provide preparation for an administrative career in a technical business enterprise. The program also provides sufficient preparation for further studies leading to the Master of Business Administration.

Geological Engineering is an interdisciplinary program housed in the Faculty of Science, but leading to the Bachelor of Applied Science of the engineering Faculty of Applied Science. Our research and teaching interests span virtually all aspects of understanding the history and dynamics of our planet, as well as management of its resources and the environment we live in. This program focuses on many important aspects of geotechnology, including construction, environmental protection, transportation, energy and water supply, mining, natural hazards management, and governmental oversight.

Our Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Systems will do it, with a combination of classroom/lab training and real world experience.

The academic portion of this STEM program features small class sizes with a focus on preparing students for careers in multidisciplinary engineering, such as in engineering management, manufacturing, mechatronics and robotics systems.

Courses you would be taking include a foundation in computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering principles, before selecting your concentration in manufacturing, mechatronics or robotics systems. Many of the courses in the core curriculum include a strong laboratory experience, which both enhances students’ learning and hones their abilities to apply technology effectively in the workplace.

Arcadia University offers a combined five-year (3+2) or six year (4+2) Engineering program in affiliation with University of Pittsburgh, and Washington University in Saint Louis. Students are also encouraged to apply to Columbia University, although students will not receive guaranteed admission, they are still eligible to apply. These programs blend a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences with an intensive engineering curriculum. Students are prepared for careers in industry, or for graduate work in engineering, mathematics, or the physical sciences. As part of the program, students will take the licensure examination for professional engineers.

Students spend either three or four years at Arcadia University, taking basic courses in mathematics and the physical sciences. Upon the recommendation of the program adviser, students then apply to their chosen college(s) of engineering for two years of engineering study.

The pre-engineering degrees prepares students to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field of their choice by requiring foundational courses common among engineering disciplines. Students interested in pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science can earn the Associates of Pre-Engineering as a milestone to their chosen degree. 

Engineering Geology is an interdisciplinary field that uses the principles of geologic processes to solve engineering and environmental problems. We provide courseworks to evaluate possible geologic hazards and Earth structures (e.g., landslides, earthquake damage, structural geology, groundwater) and prepare for registered engineering professionals with geotechnical, geologic, and petroleum specialties.

The engineering curriculum integrates coursework from other STEM areas and leverages our strong programs in applied mathematics, bioengineering, and computer science. You’ll take a set of core general engineering courses and explore many different electives—across disciplines—or choose to focus your electives and pursue one of our four program tracks.

The curriculum is designed to increase your knowledge in one or more of the following areas: analog audio systems, digital audio systems, audio mixing and production, sound cancellation and noise reduction techniques, and other audio applications. With the program’s multi-disciplinary approach, not only will you acquire a background in music production; you’ll also experience the inner workings of studio equipment and the realities of the audio business. And since the program has a history of producing standout graduates who can hit the ground running, you can find employment with broadcast networks, multimedia firms, automotive companies, and in the arts and entertainment industry, using modern technology in the recording, processing, and creation of sound.

Our engineering education major is the first of its kind in Ohio and one of the first in the nation. The program will prepare you to become a licensed secondary math teacher with a specialized engineering perspective. You’ll receive a solid foundation in engineering, mathematics and education. You’ll take core engineering courses and then broaden your engineering knowledge through eight technical electives in your areas of interest.

Our academic program is rigorous. Expect to work hard and be challenged. But there’s no need to stress, because we offer a supportive and collaborative environment. Your professors and fellow engineering students will become your friends and family. They will help you succeed and open doors for you.
