In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the United States, the University of Pittsburgh (commonly known as Pitt) is a public research institution. At its metropolitan Pittsburgh campus, which houses the university's core administration and about 28,000 undergraduate and graduate students, the institution is made up of 17 undergraduate and graduate schools and colleges. The Schenley Farms Historic District's Schenley Farms Campus in Pittsburgh is home to several historic structures, most notably the 42-story Gothic revival Cathedral of Learning, which serves as the campus' focal point.
