A private university, Long Island University was established in 1926. As a component of the Long Island University educational system, LIU Post is a liberal arts college with its headquarters in Nassau County, New York. The pioneer of breakfast cereal, C.W. Post, whose daughter Marjorie sold the land to LIU on which Post was established in 1954, is the name of the university. One of the primary campuses of the exclusive Long Island University network is LIU Post. The campus is a 307-acre complex with its headquarters in Brookville, a wealthy community on Long Island's renowned Gold Coast. At Post, there are eight campus residence halls that provide low-cost lodging, semi-private apartments, and quiet study spaces. More than 500 academic programmes are available at its major campuses, online, and at various non-residential locations. At Post, there are eight different schools, as well as the colleges of education, information and technology, and liberal arts and sciences.
