Brown University Admission 2024

Located in Providence, Rhode Island, Brown University is a private Ivy League research university. The College in the English Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations was established in 1764, making it the seventh-oldest university in the country. Acceptance Rate

After accepting 5.06 percent of applications for the Class of 2026 last year, the University now offers admission to 5.09 percent of applicants for the Class of 2027. 2,609 of the 51,302 applicants—the largest pool in Brown University history—were accepted. In addition to the 879 students admitted in December, 1,730 students were admitted via the standard decision-making procedure. 12.98 percent of the ED round's admissions were made.  

When 2,562 applications out of 50,649 were accepted last year, Brown gave admission to 5.06 percent of its applicants for the Class of 2026. Out of the 46,568 candidates for the Class of 2025, 2,568 students were accepted.

Admission Eligibility Criteria   

A high school diploma or its equivalent is required for admission to Brown University in the first year. Completing college courses while still in high school is taken into account. To be eligible for first-year admission at Brown, students must have withdrawn from their previous college or university and enrolled at another college for at least one semester of coursework. It is anticipated that candidates from other countries would finish their secondary education and take national and international finals.

Tests Required

For the 2023-2024 cycle, Brown University is continuing its test-optional policy for all applicants. While SAT or ACT scores can be submitted and will be considered, they are not mandatory. How the University Evaluates Applicants
