Arizona State University, situated in the Phoenix metropolitan area, is a public research university. The 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature established ASU in 1885, making it one of the country's biggest public universities by enrollment. 

With 112,177 undergraduate students and 30,459 graduate and professional students, ASU is the seventh-largest university in the United States. At the moment, 12.066 international students representing 158 nations make up 8.45% of the university's total enrollment. At ASU, there are more than 500-degree programs available to prospective students.

The Phoenix Valley is home to five campuses for Arizona State University. Although ASU's Polytechnic Campus hosts the majority of its programs, the Urban Tempe Campus is the institution's primary campus. The other three are Lake Havasu, Downtown Campus, and West Campus. 

At the undergraduate and graduate levels, Arizona State University provides more than 800 degree-granting courses. Business, management, psychology, communications, social sciences, and biomedical sciences are among Arizona State University's top majors. Around 500,000 people are part of Arizona State University's alumni network.  Among the notable alumni are people like Doug Ducey, Kate Spade, and Frank Wilczek.

According to THE 2023 rankings, it ranks 126-150 in Arts and Humanities, 126-150 in Engineering and Technology, 176-200 in Life Sciences, and 126-150 in Physical Sciences.
