The University of Derby, previously the Derby College, is situated in the city of Derby, England. It is a public university. Its origins can be traced to the Derby Diocesan Institution for the Training of Schoolmistresses, which was founded in 1851. In 1992, it was granted university status.

The University of Derby is spread across three campuses: Chesterfield, Buxton, and Derby. The newest location is in Derbyshire, and it specializes in offering nursing and healthcare courses. The University of Derby's residence halls have complied with the UK university's rule of practice's student housing rule. There are eight residence halls on the Derby campus, out of the total ten residence halls spread over the three campuses.

The University of Derby provides both online and offline undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, a few quick courses in particular specializations are offered. The proportion of foreigners in the population is about 13%. The following categories comprise the courses offered at the undergraduate level: Joint courses combine two courses into a single undergraduate degree; foundation courses serve as prerequisite courses for students without the necessary grades; and part-time courses are also available.
