Dublin City University (DCU), situated on the north side of Dublin, Ireland, is a public university. Established in 1975 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin, it began accepting students in 1980. It was granted university status by legislation in September 1989, together with the NIHE Limerick (which is now the University of Limerick).

Four faculties—the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science (HSS), the DCU Institute of Education, the Faculty of Science and Health, and the Faculty of Engineering and Computing—offer a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs. About 3600 students are enrolled in the 12 UG, 26 PG, and 7 research programs offered by the HSS Faculty. Study options include journalism, law, cultural innovation, and other subjects. At Dublin City University, the college of science and health enrolls about 3400 students in 24 undergraduate and 25 graduate programs. providing education to 40 000 students, of whom 35 percent are international students. With nine undergraduate and ten graduate engineering and technology programs, this DCU faculty offers the fewest programs overall.

According to THE subject-wise 2023 rankings, Dublin City ranks 251-300 in Arts and Humanities, 301-400 in Engineering, 401-500 in Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health, 401-500 in Life Sciences, 601-800 in Physical Sciences, 176-200 in Social Sciences, and 201-250 in Business and Economics.

Employability Ranking

According to the university, the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 placed Dublin City University first in Ireland and 23rd globally for graduate employment rates.
