In Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the University of Windsor is a public research institution. It is the most southern university in Canada. It includes 4,000 graduate students and about 12,000 full-time and part-time undergraduate students. More than 135,000 people have graduated from the university since it was formed by the provincial government in 1962. 

There are nine faculties at the University of Windsor, including the faculties of education, engineering, graduate studies, human kinetics, law, nursing, and science. The faculties of arts, humanities, and social sciences, business, and engineering are also included. The university has made clear that its core study areas of social justice, automotive, environmental, and international trade studies are through its faculties and independent schools. It has started to concentrate more on business, natural science, and health research in recent years. On campus, the university has three living halls for its students. In addition, MacDonald Hall is vacant, and as of 2023, work is being done on a fifth residence. Beyond First Year and First Year (straight out of high school) students reside at Alumni Hall.

According to US News Subject Ranking, the University of Windsor is ranked #700 in Computer Science and #638 in Engineering. The University is ranked #385 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
