In the Master of Engineering (Engineering Management) program, you will learn the latest theories related to engineering management and apply them to the core areas, covering project management, supply chain management, operation management and resource management. You will also be immersed in practical industry operation procedures to suit becoming an engineering manager as a future carer path. In addition, as a part of your study, you will develop research skills and use these skills to produce a minor thesis, by working on a topic of your own interest or a possible industry-related project. In the first year of the program students gain an appreciation of various operational aspects of managing the operations of an engineering organisation. This includes studies in areas such as total quality management, research data analysis, principles of project management, engineering economic analysis, sustainable development and design practice, intelligent production systems, and leadership with elective courses in energy and society, robotics and automation and human resource management, strategic procurement and others. In the second year of the program students undertake more advanced studies which emphasise the strategic management of engineering operations. This includes consideration of issues relating to supply chain management, resource management, project planning con control, and operation management.
