Utah State University (USU) is a research institution situated in the town of Logan, northern Utah, and was established in 1888 as the only land grant university in the state. The area is eighty miles from Salt Lake City and experiences warm, dry summers and harsh, snowy winters. 

Eight colleges—Arts, Engineering, Agriculture, Humanities, Education, Science, and Natural Resources—offer undergraduate programs. The Huntsman School of Business's School of Graduate Study provides a comprehensive array of courses in all subject areas, including master's degrees in accounting and human resources. 

The Old Main building on the campus of Utah's oldest academic institution dates back to 1890. The USU Museum of Anthropology is housed in the building and has collections related to the American West as well as artifacts including Arabic carpets and rugs and prehistoric stone tools.

USU's Division I NCAA athletic teams are referred to as the Aggies, honoring the university's founding as an agricultural institution. There are eight women's sports programs, including soccer and volleyball, and six men's programs. Up to 22,000 fans can be accommodated at Maverik Stadium, home of the American football franchise. Additionally, there are more than 200 clubs and organizations to suit the interests of all students.
