Rowan University, situated in Glassboro, New Jersey, is a public research university with academic and medical campuses in Camden and another medical campus in Stratford. The institution was formerly known as Glassboro Normal School when it was established in 1923 on a 25-acre (10-ha) plot of land donated by 107 locals.

Rowan University's campus has a number of amenities for students. Students can readily participate in a variety of groups and activities. There are two facilities for Rowan Campus Recreation, one of which comprises three outdoor basketball courts, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, and a grass field. Additionally, there are possibilities for intramural and club sports, group exercise, and personal training. There are six housing complexes and seven residence halls at Rowan University.
