The main campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University is situated in Madison, New Jersey. Fairleigh Dickinson University was established in 1942 and provides over 100-degree programs. Beyond its two campuses in New Jersey, the university operates an online platform, one in British Columbia, Vancouver, and another in Wroxton, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. With more than 12,000 students, Fairleigh Dickinson University is the biggest private university in New Jersey.

With 10,899 overall enrollments, 2,438 of whom are graduate students and 8,461 of whom are undergraduates, Fairleigh Dickinson is the largest private university in the state of New Jersey with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 7,434. With more than 1,100 foreign students from over 17 different countries, FDU is ranked 15th nationally in its Carnegie peer group. The Metropolitan Campus and FDU's Vancouver Campus, which was established primarily to educate international students, are home to the bulk of international students. The Vancouver Campus is the first university in British Columbia to be owned and run by the United States.
