In Clemson, South Carolina, Clemson University is a public research institution. The second-largest institution in South Carolina by enrolment is Clemson, which was founded in 1889. The institution had a total of 20,195 undergraduate students and 5,627 graduate students enrolled for the fall 2019 semester, and the student to faculty ratio was 18:1. The 1,400-acre campus of Clemson University is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains' foothills. Lake Hartwell, which was created by the dam that was finished in 1962, now abuts the campus.
