Located in Campbellsville, Kentucky, Campbellsville University (CU) is a private Christian university. It was once known as Russell Creek Academy and has around 12,000 students enrolled. Associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees are available at the university. The Kentucky Baptist Convention (Southern Baptist Convention) covenant agreement was terminated by the university trustees in 2014, but they committed to respect the principles.

Campbellsville University can be traced back to the Russell Creek Baptist Association, which founded Russell Creek Academy in 1906. In 1924, the academy progressively transformed into a junior college. Later, it expanded its programs and added a four-year curriculum. In 1959, it received college accreditation. The college attained university status in 1996 as a result of the growth of its graduate programs.

Situated in the heart of Kentucky, approximately half a mile from Campbellsville's downtown, which has 9,000 residents, lies the 80-acre campus. Seven miles from campus lies Clay Hill Memorial Forest, another area of the university. 

The academics of the University include School of Music, School of Art and School of Education. Campbellsville University's School of Music is housed at the Gosser Fine Arts Center. Classes, rehearsal spaces, faculty studios, offices, a computer lab, a piano lab, an instrumental rehearsal hall, a choral rehearsal hall, and the Gheens Recital Hall are all housed in one complex. The university's School of Art is located next to the Gosser Fine Arts Center. Similar to Gosser, the main building of the School of Art contains classrooms as well as a computer lab for students interested in learning about the arts.  The School of Education, which oversees the preparation of teachers.
