In Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is a public research university. The university has two campuses: the City Campus is in the heart of Sheffield, close to the train station, and the Collegiate Crescent Campus is approximately two miles away in south-west Sheffield, in the Broomhall Estate off Ecclesall Road. For the academic year 2025–2026, a third campus is anticipated to open in the London Borough of Barnet near Brent Cross Town.

The university has 30,960 students, 4,400 of them are international students, 4,494 staff members, and 708 courses, ranking it as the 14th largest university in the UK (out of 169).

Sheffield City Polytechnic changed its name to Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) in 1992, gaining the authority to confer its own degrees. SHU was divided into four faculties in 2005. With a focus on "people, places, and spaces," the new Faculty of Development and Society brought together the social sciences, law, geography, and education. A new Clinical Academic Group was established at the same time with the aim of advancing research and instruction in the brand-new Faculty of Health and Wellbeing.
