Located in Utrecht, Netherlands, Utrecht University is a public research institution. Having been founded on March 26, 1636, or 387 years ago, this university is among the oldest in the Netherlands. There were 37,675 enrolled students and 8,584 teaching and staff people working there in 2022. 8,500 scientific articles were published, and more than 400 PhD degrees were given out. 

The two major faculties of Law & Governance and Humanities are located in Utrecht's downtown. Utrecht Science Park De Uithof is a campus area situated on the outskirts of the city, housing the remaining five faculties as well as the majority of the administrative services. The Utrecht School of Economics and University College Utrecht are housed at the former Kromhout Kazerne, a former Dutch military installation. Off-campus, University College Roosevelt is situated in the southwest Dutch city of Middelburg.
