Public university Algoma University, sometimes known as Algoma U or Algoma, has its main campus in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.  Currently, Shingwauk Hall serves as a location for numerous classrooms as well as academic and administrative offices. Links on the first, second, and third levels connect it to the more recent East, West, and North-West wings, which contain more classrooms, research space, and offices. Several student services are located on the second floor of Shingwauk Hall, including Co-Op and Career Services, the Learning Centre, Student Advisors, and the ESL Program.

Three regulation court surfaces in the gymnasium, also known as the field house, allow for a variety of sports like badminton, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. For better tennis play, one court has been specifically constructed with a dimpled surface. A 1/9-mile indoor walking and jogging track surrounds the gym area. The GLC is equipped with a sauna, locker rooms, varsity changing areas, and special changing areas just for officiating officials.

More than 40 bachelor's degree programs, including three- and four-year options, are available at Algoma University in fields like biology, business, economics, computer science, community development, English, geography, history, psychology, social work, sociology, political science, music, and fine arts. About nine undergraduate and graduate certificate programs, as well as one- and two-year certificates, are also available in fields like project management, information technology, human management, computing, business, health science, and software development. In Timmins and Brampton, the university also provides extension programming. The Arthur A. Wishart Library at Algoma University participates in the Open Content Alliance and is a member of the Ontario Council of University Libraries.
