Situated in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is a public institution. The Sunshine Coast University College opened its doors in 1996 with 524 students, and in 1999 it changed its name to the University of the Sunshine Coast.

The institution has several campuses at Gympie, Caboolture, Hervey Bay on the Fraser Coast, and Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. USC established a full-service campus in Moreton Bay's Petrie in 2020.

There are seven disciplines in which to study: business, IT, and tourism; creative industries, design, and communication; education; engineering and science; health, nursing, and sport sciences; humanities, psychology, and social sciences; law and criminology. Undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework and higher degree by research) programs are offered.

The University of the Sunshine Coast replaced its original name, Sunshine Coast University College, upon its opening in 1996. With 12,724 students enrolled in 2021, the university's main campus is located in Sippy Downs, Queensland. It borders the Mooloolah River National Park and is located on a 100-hectare reserve for flora and animals, approximately 100 kilometers north of Brisbane.
