What is Information Science

Information science focuses on the characteristics and behavior of information, the factors that control its flow, and the methods for processing it to maximize its usability and accessibility. Information Science examines information and how people utilize it in organizations. It covers several kinds of data and the transmission, analysis, handling, assessment, and storage of information by machines and people. Information science includes dealing with computers and vast amounts of information, but it focuses on the systems themselves and how they are utilized, mainly relying on study and analysis.
