What is Event Management?

The process of ideating, creating, and maintaining an event is called event management. In other words, it is the application of project management and its attributes in creating events ranging from intimate and informal small events to large-scale corporate events, covering everything in between. 

Event managers typically take up all kinds of events, whether they be conferences, meets, weddings, get-togethers, reunions, birthday parties, live performances, or commemoration functions, during their initial phase before zoning in on particular niches in the field. 

Much before an event is launched, an event manager generally spends several weeks making critical planning decisions, fixing variables such as time, date, location, and theme of the event while constantly coordinating with various vendors for decor, catering, sound, and light requirements. At the end of an event, event managers are also responsible for gathering feedback data, submitting ROI insights, and analyzing key performance indicators to evaluate the merits or demerits of a particular event.
