What is Criminal Justice

Go back

Criminal justice is a complete system of organizations, practices, and procedures to uphold law and order, discourage and stop crime, and administer justice. It includes the legal system, prisons, and law enforcement organizations. Investigating and apprehending suspects, ensuring due process and a fair trial, and, if found guilty, imposing equitable punishments or rehabilitative measures are the main goals of criminal justice. Aiming for a balance between punishment and rehabilitation to promote a just and legal society, criminal justice also works to safeguard individual rights while preserving public safety.
