What is Land Resource

Go back

The natural characteristics and qualities of the Earth's surface that serve as a foundation for diverse human activities are called "land resources." These resources consist of geography, vegetation, minerals, and soil. Urban development, building, forestry, and agriculture all require land. Ecosystems, biodiversity, and human livelihoods must all be conserved via wise use of land resources. Problems influencing land resources include soil erosion, deforestation, desertification, and land-use planning. Sustainable land management encourages the responsible use and protection of land resources for current and future generations while attempting to balance human requirements and environmental preservation.
