What is Digital Communication

Exchange of data is called communication, and when this task is done with the help of digital signals it is known as digital communication. It is important to understand that there could be a single point from where data is transmitted and a single point where data is received. This is  known as point-to-point communication, for example: you calling your friend and wishing him on his birthday. On the other hand there could be a single point from where data is transmitted to multiple points; this is point-to-multipoint communication. For example: News broadcasts on radios.
