History

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a public research university that was founded in 1848. In the year 1838, state territorial legislature passed a bill to establish a University of Wisconsin “at or near Madison, the seat of government,” and in the year 1849, the first-class met on 5th February under the direct system of education. 

In 1851 the north hall opened, and the first campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison started with classroom facilities and hostel dormitory. Wisconsin Alumni Association was formed in 1861. Today, it is one of the well-established and worldwide ranked universities globally.

University of Wisconsin Requirements: Examination

University of Wisconsin admissions require certain entrance and standardized examination scores and the application form and documents. 

1. Examination for undergraduate courses: SAT and ACT examinations are compulsory examinations for entrance to undergraduate courses at the University of Wisconsin. The minimum score requirement is SAT: 1290 and ACT: 30. 

2. Standardized examination for the graduate program: Students need to take the GRE and GMAT examination to take admission to graduate programs. The university requires a minimum general GRE: 320 and GMAT: 649. It is suitable for undergraduate students to take the standardized examination for getting admission. 

3. English language proficiency test: English language proficiency test scores of IELTS, TOEFL are accepted to prove language proficiency. The minimum score requirements are IELTS: 6.5 and TOEFL: 80.
