The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) has accredited the University of Utah since 1933. Accreditation through NWCCU implies that this university meets the established standards of the Commission of educational effectiveness and quality. AS of Fall 2021, there were 35,000+ enrolled students and 72% of these students contribute to increased diversity and 31% of the U’s domestic incoming freshmen are of colour which went straight up from 18% in 2009. 70% of freshmen at the U graduate within 6 years. Freshman admission
The University of Utah does not have a GPA cut off for freshmen admission but the middle 50% of the admitted class has an unweighted GPA between 3.46 and 3.93. This means that 25% has a GPA above this range and 25% has a GPA below this range.
ACT/SAT scores are not required for standard admission, direct admission programs and merit scholarships. ACT/SAT scores are needed for home school graduates, graduates from non-accredited US high schools and students receiving high school equivalency credentials through HiSET or GED
