Rush University is a private educational institution founded in 1972. The University is an academic extension of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), located in the heart of Illinois, the United States. It is ranked 301–350th by Times Higher Education on the World University Rankings of 2022.

Rush University has been accredited by the Illinois Board of Higher Education, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory, Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and more. It has a vast student community of over 2,800 learners from all 50 US states and 18 countries. The University's unique teaching methodology blends academic excellence with collaborative patient care practice. Established on the foundation of research excellence, novelty, and philanthropy, the investigators here are engaged in over 1,600 clinical studies and projects sponsored by the National Institute of Health to understand the effectiveness and hazards of evolving medical devices and therapies. The University has four medical colleges: Rush Medical College, College of Nursing, Health Sciences, and the Graduate College.
