Our Lady of the Lake University

Our Lady of the Lake University, or The Lake, is a private Catholic university at San Antonio in, Texas. It is ranked 299-391 (2022) in the U.S. News National Universities ranking. The University was founded by the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence in 1895. 

The college transformed into a university in 1975 with the change in its name to Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio. It has accreditation from the SACSCOC, while individual program accreditations include ACBSP and APA. The university has an overall enrollment of 2,700+ students. 

The institution has the main campus in San Antonio and other campuses in Rio Grande Valley and Houston. 

There are 70+ undergraduate minors and majors, along with 14+ master’s courses and three doctoral programs. Leading institutions include the College of Professional Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, Worden School of Social Service, School of Business, and the Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Major disciplines include Anthropology, Accounting, Biomathematics, Biology, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Chemistry, Counseling, Cybersecurity, Education, Management, and more. 

Notable alumni include Chief Operating Officer, Methodist Hospital, Janelle Lopez, Vice President, News Production, Noticias Univision, David Romo, and many others. 

The university has its own Center for Career Development and Training, which offers support for alumni and students. There are several career development initiatives and programs, along with career assessment and testing services for students. There is also guidance and counseling regarding choosing the right career pathway.
