History of Knoxville University

The University of Tennessee Knoxville started as a small college in the Southwest Territory in 1794. In 1807, it was renamed East Tennessee College and was transformed into a university by 1840. 

Between 1862 to 1865, the university operations were suspended during the Civil War. Then finally, in 1879, the university got its official name, and the UT system was created in 1968. In 1994, the university completed its 200 years from the establishment.

Knoxville University- Admission Requirements

Global Ambassador Scholarship

Along with staying enrolled in the program full-time and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0, students must fulfill the following requirements to keep the scholarship 

  • commit to fulfilling the program requirements as a UT Global Ambassador

International Beacon Scholarship
