Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties
The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) accredits Hawaii Pacific University. The accreditation of HPU was reaffirmed on July 11, 2022 by WSCUC, extending the accreditation to 2028. The total undergraduate enrollment of the university was 4066 as of Fall, 2021. The faculty of HNU includes 360 part-time and full-time professors.
University Campus, Facilities, Labs and Courses
The main campus of Hawaii Pacific University is situated in downtown Honolulu which is the financial and business centre of the Pacific. The Hawaii Loa campus houses the College of Health and Society and the College of Natural and Computational Sciences, along with other general academic courses of HPU. The Makapu’u campus is the main site of the Oceanic Institute, which is a R&D organisation of HNU dedicated to biotechnology, coastal resource management and aquaculture. There are also several military campuses and facilities of HNU. HNU offers laboratory facilities for chemistry and biology, nursing simulation, natural and computational sciences, and health. Admission Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate requirements
- Grade Point Average (GPA).
- ACT scores. HNU is test optional and applicants are not required to submit their standardized test results.
- Proof of English language proficiency such as TOEFL or IELTS if the applicant is educated outside the US.
- Extracurricular activities.
- Academic area of interest.
Graduate requirements
- Standardized entrance exams that are specific to the applied programs and often include GRE or GMAT.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) applicants are required to confirm the completion of 500 APRN practicum hours at least.
- DNP applicants must complete and submit the Verification of Field Clinical Hours form.
- MSN applicants are required to have two years of active RN work experience, undergraduate statistics course and the US RN license.
