Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

A highly sought-after university it offers education at a level of exceptional expertise and is accredited to many prestigious institutions. Ball State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission From data since Fall 2020, total enrollment was 21,597 students, including 15,205 undergraduates and 5,817 postgraduates. Ball State University admits approximately 21,500 students who come from all over Indiana, and around the world. Out-of-state students are about 25 percent of enrollment, and also includes ethnic minorities and they comprise about 23 percent. The university enrolls more than 300 international students. Provides academics in various subjects.

University Campus, Facilities, Labs and Courses

Spread across 731 acres the university offers a number of facilities to its students. Including 109 buildings and some of them are as follows,

And many other campus infrastructures are present. There are more than 400 student organizations and clubs on campus, including thirty one fraternities and sororities. Ball State athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known as the Ball State Cardinals. The university is a member of the Mid-American Conference and the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. In Fall 2020, the university formed a varsity esports team and joined the Esports Collegiate Conference. the university's earliest academic buildings, Christy Woods, and the Wheeler-Thanhauser Orchid Collection and Species Bank. The university aims at environment sustainability and contributes greatly to the surrounding environment to preserve the local nature and flora and fauna.

Ball State University gives to its students undergraduate education in  professional studies and liberal arts. The university offers about 120 undergraduate majors and 130 minor areas of study and more than 100 master's, doctoral, certificate, and specialist degrees. 

Ball State University Acceptance Rate

 The university is selective, admitting 77 percent of applicants in 2019. The admissions may seem easy but are competitive and  the students are selected carefully by consideration and full dedication. Students are selected in a way that they can enhance and contribute to the potential of the future of the state and the country.

Admission eligibility criteria 

Freshman requirements

  • Strength of curriculum (including the senior year),Students must have   the best college preparatory curriculum available. For Indiana applicants, Ball State asks for completion of the academic component of the Core 40 curriculum as the minimum preparation for students who are college bound, however, completion of the Academic Honors Diploma is strongly encouraged. Students from other states should pursue a strong college  curriculum.
  • Performance as measured by grades in English, mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II are minimum requirements), laboratory sciences, social sciences, and foreign languages and overall high school GPA.
  • Curriculum patterns and grade trends
  • Standardized test scores, SAT and/or ACT scores are not required for admissions to Ball State. Students who believe that their SAT and/or ACT scores are a positive addition to their academic record should submit their test scores.
