The setting of this university is rural and the campus size is 500 acres. It utilises a semester-based academic calendar. This university offers several student services including placement services, nonremedial tutoring, health service, health insurance and many more. This university also offers safety and security services like 24-hour emergency telephones, day and night foot and vehicle patrols, controlled dormitory access and so on. Alcohol is permitted for the students of legal age at this university. Appalachian State University Acceptance rate (General)

The university admissions are selective with an acceptance rate of 85% and an early acceptance rate of 88.6 %. Half the applicants admitted to this university have an ACT score of 20 and 27 or an SAT score between 1070 and 1280. On the other hand one-quarter of admitted applicants achieve scores below these ranges and one-quarter of the students scored above these ranges. Admission officials of this university consider a GPA score an important academic factor. 

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate

Undergraduate applicants should be aged 18 or above and need to qualify for 10+2 school grade. SAT, ACT and GPA are considered here. A recommendation letter is required for admission to this university. The minimum number of credits to apply for transfer students is 24.

Postgraduate

The applicants for the postgraduate course need to produce an undergraduate program certificate. A separate application which is mentioned with the chosen subject is required. GPA proof, SAT, ACT or TOEFL scores are needed for admission to this course.
