Admission Requirements for University of Guelph

  • Successful completion of Class XII State Board Certificate with First Division
  • Students should provide verified Class X results with expected Class XII marks if they have not gotten the same for earlier admissions. The minimum average should be 80%
  • Those willing to apply for Bachelor of Science or Commerce without having Mathematics in Class XII should register at www.ilc.org and complete the MHF4U Math for Biological Science or Commerce and the MCV4U Math for Physical Science degrees with 75-80% marks

Graduate students will have to adhere to the following requirements: 

  • Scores in English proficiency tests or the completion of the English Language Certificate Program at U of G
  • Equivalent degree for the four-year bachelor’s course at a Canadian university. A bachelor’s degree in India covering a four-year and three-year course from institutions rated NAAC A serves the purpose.
  • The grade equivalent is A+ for 9.5-10 and A for 9-9.49, while A- indicates 8.50-8.99. B+ and B are equivalent to 8-8.49 and 7.5-7.99, respectively, while B- indicates 7-7.49 

Available Scholarships at the University of Guelph

1. The President’s Scholarship

Nine scholarships are given with average admission scores of 90% at least. Students who have contributed majorly to their communities and schools are considered. 

2The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarships

There are two scholarships for those getting at least 90% marks and making considerable leadership-driven contributions to their communities and schools. They should be BIPOC or indigenous students or students with disabilities. 

These scholarships offer $9,500 (INR 7.17 lakh) in funding as a summer research assistantship after year one. 

3. University of Guelph Entrance Scholarship

This offers $3,000 (INR 2.25 lakh) to those securing 90-94.9% and $3,500 to those getting 95.0% and more.
