Expand your theoretical knowledge and professional attributes while gaining the clinical and research skills necessary for a professional career in speech pathology. The profession of speech pathology is focussed on the management of communication and/or swallowing difficulties. Communication problems may occur in the areas of speech, language, voice, fluency (stuttering), hearing or lieracy. Through this two and a half year full-time program, you'll complete advanced coursework to develop your understanding of practice and research, while enhancing the effectiveness of your clinical practice as a speech pathologist. You'll learn how to interview, assess, diagnose and treat a variety of clients with communication issues, ranging from speech impairments to problems with voice control, language, fluency, swallowing and eating. You'll be taught by award-winning teachers, researchers and clinical educators who are among the best in Australia, and you'll gain the theoretical knowledge, professional attributes and clinical and research skills to confidently pursue a career helping people who have challenges with speech and/or swallowing.
