Train to excel as a counselor in diverse primary and secondary school environments. Learn to work with children, adolescents, families, teachers, and administrators while gaining consultation skills that support schools and community settings to address the needs of individuals and groups served. After completing your supervised field training hours, you will be eligible for both licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in addition to the initial license as School Counselor (K-8 or 5-12) or School Adjustment Counselor (Grades K -12) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Through our graduate program in school and community counseling, you’ll work with children and adolescents, as well as their families, to build an environment of respect, cooperation, and support.

Through Lesley's Trauma Studies master's degree program, you can choose to pursue one or two internships where you'll gain 700 to 1,300 hours of clinical experience while training alongside practitioners who are driving new thinking in the field.

Advances in neurobiology and increased public awareness have turned a spotlight on the profound biopsychosocial consequences of traumatic experiences on the lives of people. At the same time, growing numbers of those in need of such services, including military veterans, international refugees, and domestic violence survivors, are unable to access the services they need.

The undergraduate major in Global Health Studies (GHS) provides students with an interdisciplinary perspective to understanding how issues surrounding global health relate to the greater impacts on society, culture, and the environment. This major provides students with the opportunity to explore the cultural and social aspects of health and underlying causes that affect the well-being and provide an important interdisciplinary platform for the empirical and theoretical interaction of humanists and social scientists.

The Bachelor of Science in Global Health Studies (Pre-Med) provides students with an interdisciplinary perspective to understanding how issues surrounding global health relate to the greater impacts on society, culture, and the environment. This major combines social science and humanist perspectives and crosses the disciplines of anthropology, religious studies, geography, regional studies, classics, history, literature, and sociology.

The GHS (Pre-Med) major (24 credits plus pre-med requirements) will fulfill the STEM area of knowledge requirement.

Whereas medicine as a field addresses disease diagnosis and care, the field of global health is much broader, and still being defined. Global health in the social sciences encompasses disease prevention, education, health policy, access, and resiliency. Global health in the humanities examines the history and cultural significance of medicine and health from ancient times to today. This major provides students with the opportunity to explore the cultural and social aspects of health and underlying causes that affect the well-being and provide an important interdisciplinary platform for the empirical and theoretical interaction of humanists and social scientists.
