Have you ever considered managing a campaign or even running for elected office?  Appalachian State University’s Bachelor of Science in Political Science - American Politics degree prepares you to work effectively and to productively engage in politics.

In the American Politics concentration, you will have the opportunity to learn from faculty who specialize in electoral behavior, political institutions, public administration and judicial behavior. Students are encouraged to participate in local, state and national politics, and many pursue an internship in Washington, D.C., or North Carolina’s capital of Raleigh.

By studying Politics and International Relations at Sussex, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of global issues. You’ll also be studying in Brighton, one of the UK’s most politically diverse cities.

You’ll learn from experts who are influencing debates of worldwide significance, from political corruption to global health policy.

You’ll put your knowledge into action by getting involved with our events. These feature influential speakers, including UK MPs and NATO representatives.

Internship

As a final-year student, you can apply for a competitive internship with a Westminster MP or in local government with Brighton & Hove City Council.

Study in Brighton – one of the UK’s most politically diverse cities – and explore ideas around political power, stability and change.

You’ll learn from experts in topics ranging from political corruption to continental philosophy. This helps you to link analysis of modern political issues with philosophy.

You’ll also benefit from regular political debates featuring guest speakers. There are also opportunities to present at our annual philosophical conference.
