What is CSU? The full form of CSU is California State University. Leading CSU institution Cal State Fullerton is a hub for Southern California's intellectual and cultural life as well as a force behind the region's workforce and economic growth. CSU is becoming a national leader in promoting student achievement through cutting-edge, highly effective extracurricular and instructional programs, such as faculty-student joint research.

Founded in 1957, California State University—Fullerton is a public university. As of fall 2022, there are 35,239 undergraduate students enrolled overall, and the campus spans 236 acres. The academic calendar is based on the semester. In the 2024 edition of Best Colleges, California State University—Fullerton is ranked #133 among National Universities. The cost of tuition and fees is $7,074 for in-state students and $18,954 for out-of-state students.

CSU Campus

Northeast Fullerton is home to the campus, which was formerly citrus trees. Its boundaries are as follows: Yorba Linda Boulevard to the north, State College Boulevard to the west, the Orange Freeway (SR-57) to the east, and Nutwood Avenue to the south.

Despite being founded in the late 1950s, Howard van Heuklyn, an architect and artist, oversaw much of the initial construction on campus in the late 1960s, giving the campus its striking, futuristic architecture (buildings like Pollak Library South, Titan Shops, Humanities, McCarthy Hall). This was a reaction to the many Googie structures in the neighborhood of Fullerton.

The science fiction collection of Philip K. Dick is kept in the Pollak Library.

Dan Black Hall, the Joseph A.W. Clayes III Performing Arts Center West, Phase III Housing, the Grand Central Art Center, the Titan Student Union, the Student Recreation Center, the College Park Building, Steven G. Mihaylo Hall, University Hall, the State College Parking Structure, and Pollak Library have all been added to the campus since 1993. Many buildings on campus have solar panels installed on top of them in an effort to become more environmentally friendly and to produce electricity for the institution. The panels are located atop the Eastside Parking Structure, Clayes Performing Arts Center, and the Kinesiology and Health Science Building. They can produce up to 7–8% of the electricity consumed on a daily basis.

The university constructed a $143 million housing complex in August 2011 that featured five new residence halls, a convenience store, and the Gastronome, a 565-seat dining hall.

California State University Fullerton

Programs at California State University Fullerton are provided by eight colleges and offer a wide range of disciplines. These include arts, music, theater, business, economics, communication, advertising, journalism, education, engineering, computer science, health, psychology, and science, among many other fields. In total, there are 109 degree programs offered by the university, divided into 57 undergraduate and 52 graduate courses, including three doctorates.

Although this agreement fell through, in May 2010, CSUF announced plans to purchase the lot currently occupied by Hope International University.

In September 2010, CSUF also revealed plans to build a project named CollegeTown, which would incorporate the nearby residential neighborhoods and retail establishments into the campus. The project would be located south of Nutwood Avenue. In February 2016, the Fullerton planning committee decided to put the project on hold indefinitely due to community objections.
