The University of West London is a public institution founded in 1860 as the Lady Byron School. The University of West London in the UK came into being after the Ealing College of Higher Education merged with the London College of Music, Thames Valley College of Higher Education, and Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Care Studies. The University merged with other institutions in 1994 and 1995 along with the year 2004 when it integrated the Reading College and Ealing School of Art and Design. The Brentford campus was bought in 2016 while Ruskin College, Oxfod, joined the university in 2021. The university has campus sites at Brentford and Ealing which are linked via 10-minute shuttle buses. The Berkshire Institute for Health at the Fountain House is located in the Reading town center. The Ealing site has seen the addition of a new auditorium, music studios, revamped Students’ Union, and the Paul Hamlyn Library.
