The University of West London is a public institution founded in 1860 as the Lady Byron School. The University of West London in the UK came into being after the Ealing College of Higher Education merged with the London College of Music, Thames Valley College of Higher Education, and Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Care Studies. The University merged with other institutions in 1994 and 1995 along with the year 2004 when it integrated the Reading College and Ealing School of Art and Design. The Brentford campus was bought in 2016 while Ruskin College, Oxford, joined the university in 2021. The university has campuses at Brentford and Ealing.

The university has campus sites at Brentford and Ealing which are linked via 10-minute shuttle buses. The Berkshire Institute for Health at the Fountain House is located in the Reading town center. The Ealing site has seen the addition of a new auditorium, music studios, revamped Students’ Union, and the Paul Hamlyn Library.

The university offers a unique flight simulator, several engineering laboratories, nursing, midwifery, and healthcare research and simulation facilities, sewing and knitting machine rooms for the fashion and textiles category, and food and hospitality training at The Pillars Restaurant and Savoy Kitchen. There are performance spaces and recording studios along with a mock courtroom, forensic laboratories, a crime scene room, and media facilities along with innovative psychology research facilities. The language of instruction is English.


The admission cycle starts on 30th June by which applicants may submit applications via UCAS and the consideration date is 26th January. The clearing date is 1st July. The UCAS Extra timeline is 25th February while postgraduates may apply directly throughout the entire year.
