There are no University of Cologne fees for tuition. Students only have to pay the semester fee for each semester. This works out to approximately 664.7 Euros or INR 56,500. 

Admission Requirements

The University of Cologne admissions requirements include the following: 

1. Secondary school certificate or entrance qualification. 

2. Alternative Zugangsprufung or entrance examination at the university if the entrance qualification is not recognized. 

3. German language proficiency is required for some courses since all bachelor’s programs at the institution are taught in the language. 

4. You should demonstrate the following levels- 

a) DSH-2

b) TestDaF TDN 4 in all examination components 

c) Telc C2

d) Telc C1 Hochschule

e) Deutsches Sprachdiplom Level II of the KMK or DSD II

f) Goethe-Institut C2

g) OSD C2

h) Feststellungsprufung (FSP) with Deutsch subject

5. The TestAS certificate (standardized aptitude test for foreign students) is required for some programs. 

6. All academic transcripts with CV and passport copy.  

Available scholarships at the University of Cologne

There are many options for scholarships and you can find some in the DAAD database. However, beginners do not have high chances for finding scholarships as they are offered to eligible Master and Ph.D. program students. You should consult the DAAD Office or German Embassy/Consulate for scholarship opportunities. 

The university itself has its own program for international and German students. This includes the Sozialstipendium der Universitat zu Koln, Deutschlandstipendium des Bundes and Stipendium fur Studierende mit Behinderung oder chronischer Erkrankung grants. Students get 300 Euros each month or approximately INR 25-26,000.
