Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the English language proficiency of international students who wish to graduate from a university/college in an English-speaking country. The score is one of the most important admission criteria as set by top-ranked universities and colleges worldwide. The English proficiency test is a general eligibility criterion to understand if the applicants can integrate and communicate in an English-speaking environment while they study and work. TOEFL is of two types, TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) and TOEFL Paper-delivered test. While the TOEFL exam fee varies across locations, the TOEFL exam fee in India is US$185 (INR 13,720 approximately).

The Internet-based TOEFL test assesses candidates across four academic English skills: Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening. Since the fee for the TOEFL exam in India is slightly higher in comparison to other entrance tests, it is recommended that the aspirants take the test only once or twice. Also, it may be noted that the test can be taken as many times as the candidate wishes.
