Shardashish Interschool Fellowship – Eligibility Criteria
Only students applying for eligible courses are considered for the Shardashish Interschool scholarship. This one-time fellowship is given to students with an undergraduate qualification from an acceptable standing institution. Other criteria include:
- TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, 12th, and UG (graduation) are required compulsorily.
- Preference is given to students promising their commitment to India and its future.
- Students facing financial instability but having a keen interest in academics are preferred.
- Students must have applied and should be admitted to one of the specific Columbia University schools for the following programs.
The Graduate School of Arts and Science offers 5 programs:
- MA in Biotechnology
- MA in Statistics
- MA in Mathematics of Finance
- MA in Economics
- MA in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology
A single program is offered by the School of International and Public Affairs.
- MPA in Environmental Science and Policy
The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science
- MS is any engineering discipline.
Shardashish Interschool Fellowship – Documents Required
A student will need the following documents and various English qualifying tests, including TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE:
- SIF Fellowship application form
- Completed financial need assessment form
- Previous degrees
- Three relevant professional roles or initiatives that exhibit your dedication and enthusiasm for making changes and tackling the significant development challenges facing India.
- Statement of interest (maximum 1000 words)
- Submission of a writing sample pertinent to your application for the SIF Program, along with a letter of support or endorsement.
Submit all SIF Fellowship application documents to the admissions contact at your chosen school.
Shardashish Interschool Fellowship – Benefits
The Shardashish Interschool Fellowship benefits financially challenged students with a strong determination to excel academically and pursue a Master’s degree. This one-time opportunity finances up to USD 50,000 a year for the students who wish to join the program.
This not only takes the burden off the students but also acts as a silver lining to many students who cannot afford it. The awarded fellowship can be applied to the tuition fees. The scholarship is applicable only to a limited number of courses offered by Columbia University.
