The GRE exam fee in India is around US$213 or INR 15,800 with effect from 1st July 2020. The examination fee in many other countries is US$205 while the GRE exam fee for India is the same as countries like Turkey, Australia, China, and Nigeria. The fee for the GRE exam in India is $150 for the subject test version.

GRE Exam Fee- Cancellation Charges

The cancellation fee for the GRE exam in India is 50% or half of the total exam fee of the GRE that has been paid by the candidate. The official GRE documents should be scrutinized for information on the terms and conditions and refund policies. The approximate refund value will be roughly US$102.5 or slightly more or less.

GRE Rescheduling Fee

The GRE rescheduling fee is US$53.90 for candidates from China (general test) and US$50 for rescheduling the GRE general test for those in other countries. Subject test rescheduling will cost US$50 worldwide. US$50 is the charge for changing the testing center for GRE (both subject and general tests).

How to register for the GRE exam?

Registration is not that difficult for the GRE examination. You may pay the fees and provide your valid passport copy or relevant Aadhar Card ID. You may register via phone, fax, mail or online. The online registration procedure is the following: 1. Create your ETS account online. 2. Select the type of GRE examination, i.e., Subject or General Test. 3. Select the date for appearing for the examination while choosing the nearest testing centre as well. 4. Give all academic details. 5. Pay the registration charges. Registration via phone is done via the RRC or regional registration centre at 91-124-4147700. The RRC for India is Prometric which is based in Gurgaon, Haryana. The call should be made at least 2 days prior to the selected test date. You will get the confirmation number; test centre address and time of reporting will be intimated to you likewise. You can also pay through debit or with credit cards.

How can I cancel my registration for the GRE exam?

You may cancel GRE examination registration through your online ETS account. You can call Prometric Services at the numbers 1-800-473-2255 or 1-443-751-4820. You should provide the confirmation number for your appointment in this regard.

What are the documents required for the GRE exam?

Indian aspirants for the GRE examination should provide a valid original passport copy as identity proof. They may also use their Aadhar Cards as official ID proof as per the new ETS regulations. At the centre, candidates may have to undertake photo identification, biometric voice identification and fingerprint matching/thumb impression matching procedures. A videotaping procedure may be implemented for verifying the candidate’s signature as well. The comparison will be done prior to admitting the candidate into the examination centre.
