History & Background

In the late 1950s, public discussions stimulated the pursuit of setting up a dedicated university for Niagara. By the fall of 1962, the Brock Founders Committee was founded after getting approval to set up a new institution.The university eventually opened its doors in September 1964. 

It had a batch of 127 students who did their classes at the refrigeration factory positioned beneath the Niagara Escarpment. In 1966, the completion of the Schmon Tower led to the institution steadily shifting upwards to the permanent campus over the Escarpment.

There is a team of 600 world-class faculty members along with various initiatives for student placements. The Co-Op program helps students test their knowledge in the real world, building valuable professional experience in turn.
